A serious accident occurred on Thappraya Road in Pattaya when a sedan collided with a van and a bus, leaving two individuals injured.
The Pattaya Rescue Centre was notified of the crash on the road heading towards Jomtien Beach at 7.36am yesterday, January 21. Emergency responders, accompanied by media representatives, promptly arrived at the scene.
On arrival, a grey bronze Honda Accord sedan was discovered lodged into the back of a tour bus, bearing considerable damage. Inside the vehicle, two individuals, 33 year old Suriyaphong and 31 year old Thanyachon, were found injured and trapped. Rescue personnel employed hydraulic tools to free them and administered first aid, transporting them to a hospital for further treatment.
In addition to the damaged tour bus, the police observed that the sedan had also sideswiped another tour bus, causing damage to its side. A Toyota van was found to have sustained minor damage as well.
The van’s driver, 47 year old Sunthorn, explained that he was en route to pick up tourists at Jomtien Beach when the sedan abruptly swerved and collided with his vehicle. Despite the impact nearly causing him to crash into the central divider, he managed to steer the van safely to the roadside and remained unharmed, reported The Pattaya News.
Following the sedan’s crash into the rear of the tour bus, resulting in injuries, Sunthorn promptly notified emergency services. Pattaya police are currently investigating the precise cause of the accident.
