Police arrest man for trafficking 14 year old girl in Narathiwat
Police in Narathiwat have apprehended a 20 year old man involved in an online prostitution operation, where he allegedly arranged for a 14 year old girl to meet clients at a resort, taking a 500 baht commission per encounter. The arrest occurred yesterday, January 21.
Police Colonel Songklot Krikkritaya, the acting commander of the Anti-Human Trafficking Division, instructed Police Colonel Natthapong Kerd-iam, along with Police Lieutenant Preecha Srisai, to carry out the operation. They arrested Fandoo (surname withheld) on charges of human trafficking and prostitution of a minor under the age of 15, as well as benefiting from child prostitution.
The arrest took place at a resort in Mueang district, Narathiwat province.
Before the arrest, police discovered a social media account operated by an individual posing as an online pimp, arranging underage girls for sexual services in the area, charging 1,500 baht (US$45) per session. Police set up a sting operation, arranging a meeting at a resort.
At the agreed time, Fandoo arrived with the 14 year old girl in the room, leading to his arrest, reported KhaoSod.
During questioning, Fardoo confessed to acting as a pimp, arranging for young girls to provide sexual services to local clients. He admitted to receiving a 500 baht (US$15) cut from each transaction.
Legal proceedings are underway, with the case being handled by investigators from the Anti-Human Trafficking Division.
In related news, Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) officers arrested two Thai women for operating a child prostitution ring, tricking young virgin women into offering sex services to illegal Chinese nationals.
CIB officers arrested the 21 year old Thai woman named Panida and a 22 year old woman named Nalatporn for their involvement in child prostitution. Panida was arrested at her condominium in the Rama IX area of Bangkok, while Nalatporn was arrested in the central province of Suphan Buri.
