Pattaya punch-up: Teenage girl kicks off in wholesale showdown

A violent punch-up erupted at a wholesale store in Pattaya yesterday between local Thai shoppers when a teenager kicked off after she was blocked by another consumer. The fracas sparked at a store on Soi Khao Noi, East Pattaya, at 8pm yesterday, March 9.

The drama exploded when a 19 year old woman flew into a fury over a shopping cart blockade, leading to a brutal confrontation caught entirely on CCTV.

The unsuspecting shopper, 44 year old Akira Park, was trying to navigate a narrow aisle towards the checkout with her children when the drama unfolded.

“Excuse me, could you please step back a couple of steps?” Akira reportedly said, hoping to defuse the tension. But her polite plea was met with hostility as the young woman rammed her cart into Akira’s, sparking a war of words.

Things took a sinister turn when Akira, realising the verbal exchange was heating up, attempted to make a hasty exit.

Her bid for peace was thwarted when the irate teenager falsely accused her of confronting her mother. What followed was a shocking scene: the assailant allegedly lunged at Akira, gripping her throat in a menacing chokehold, while Akira, mindful of her children beside her, tried in vain to protect herself without fighting back.

As if the cart confrontation wasn’t enough, as Akira was leaving the store, she was ambushed yet again. CCTV footage captured the assailant viciously yanking Akira’s hair, causing her to stumble to the ground.

Determined to see justice served, Akira took her grievances to Nongprue Police Station, reporting the assault and demanding the assailant be brought in for questioning. However, the wheels of justice seem to be turning slowly, with Akira voicing concerns over the fairness of the process. She’s pledged to pursue legal action, refusing to let the 19 year old escape accountability.

Attempts by the press to contact the suspect, known only as Noi, hit a dead end. When reached for comment, Noi reportedly said, “I’m not available for an interview.” She then abruptly hanging up.

Akira added that she will fight for justice against her aisle adversary.
