Pattaya police arrest four in drug raid, seize firearms and drugs

Pattaya police arrested four alleged drug agents and seized substantial amounts of methamphetamine, ketamine, and firearms during a series of raids conducted yesterday, July 17.

The operation, led by the Chief of Pattaya Police Station, Police Colonel Navin Teerawit, targeted drug networks in Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province.

The first raid saw the arrest of 29 year old Suwanchai Saenmuangma at the entrance of a hardware store in South Pattaya. Police confiscated 6.3 grammes of ketamine, copies of Thai banknotes used in undercover operations, and a mobile phone from him.

Following Suwanchai’s interrogation, police arranged a sting operation to apprehend his supplier, identified as 28 year old Yanawut. Yanawut was arrested in Soi Khao Noi with 200 grammes of ketamine, 104 grammes of collagen, a digital scale, plastic bags, a Colt .45 calibre pistol, two ammunition magazines, 42 .45 calibre rounds, and a mobile phone.

Further investigation led officers to a hotel on Soi Mab Yai Lai, where they arrested two additional suspects, identified as 20 year old Phanudech, and 26 year old Anupornchai. Police found 1.7 grammes of methamphetamine, a digital scale, 600 baht in cash, copies of banknotes used for undercover operations, and a mobile phone with the two suspects.

The four individuals arrested in the Pattaya drug raids are currently in custody, awaiting legal proceedings, reported Pattaya News.

In related news, National Police Chief Torsak Sukvimol disclosed the outcome of Operation 767, a nationwide crackdown by Thai police on influential groups, hired gunmen, and crime syndicates. The operation, conducted across 183 locations, targeted criminal gangs, loan sharks, figures linked to local politicians, bid-rigging groups, and public land encroachers. Police managed to apprehend 87 suspects.

In other news, a Dutchman fell to his death from a six-storey mansion in Pattaya yesterday, July 17, in a suspected suicide causing panic among tourists and locals. Police and rescue teams were called to the scene to investigate and retrieve the body.
