A 16 year old Thai teenager surrendered to police after stabbing a 15 year old boy to death in the central province of Pathum Thani over a love triangle.

Officers from Ladlumkaew Police Station were alerted to the death of the teenage boy, Sarawut, at 5.44pm yesterday, July 17. They visited the scene with a rescue team and medical workers.

Officers met with the person who reported the incident. He explained that while riding his motorcycle to a market, he noticed an overturned motorcycle in the middle of the road. Two women and a man at the scene asked for his help, saying Sarawut had been stabbed and fell into a ditch on the roadside.

The man retrieved Sarawut from the ditch and found two stab wounds to his chest and body. A knife, suspected of being the murder weapon, was discovered nearby.

Medical workers were unable to save Sarawut’s life due to the severity of his injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sarawut’s mother, 37 year old Tatiya, told ThaiRath she suspected the stabbing stemmed from a love triangle involving her son, his girlfriend named Earn, and another teenage boy she suspected of being the murderer.

Tatiya explained that her son broke up with Earn but reunited with her four to five days before the incident. She believed her son, his girlfriend, and the other teenager had met at the scene to resolve the issue but the meeting ended in violence.

The 16 year old teenager, Earn’s other boyfriend, surrendered to the police later that day. He is currently being questioned and has not yet been charged.

A similar story was reported in Pattaya last week when a love triangle sparked a violent brawl between two Kuwaiti men, Khalilove and Alazemi. Khalilove encountered his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, Alazami, who still harboured feelings for her, leading to the altercation.

Another love triangle incident was reported in the central province of Prachin Buri, where two Chinese men were injured after fighting over a Thai woman.
