Motorcyclist and vendor seriously injured in Pattaya collision

A motorcyclist collided with a street vendor’s sidecar in Pattaya, resulting in serious injuries for both individuals. The incident occurred at 3.20am today, August 28, on a road near Wat Boonkanjanaram, just before the Nong Phong intersection in the Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province.

The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre received the report and dispatched rescue workers along with a medical team from Pattaya City Hospital to the scene.

Upon arrival, police discovered a severely damaged grey Honda PCX motorcycle lying on the road. The injured rider, a foreign man whose nationality, name, and age remain unknown, was found with a severe head laceration. Rescue personnel and the medical team administered initial first aid before transporting him to a local hospital.

Further down the road, a sidecar motorcycle, used for selling rice porridge, lay overturned with its contents scattered. The rider, 42 year old Supaporn Hoisung, was also seriously injured and taken to a local hospital by rescue workers.

Supaporn’s husband, 43 year old Buntham Suksawat recounted that he had been driving behind his wife’s sidecar as they headed to the Mae Laor Market. A foreign man on a motorcycle attempted to overtake a car, but lost control, swerving into the opposite lane and crashing into Supaporn’s sidecar.

Pattaya police are currently inspecting the scene and reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident, reported Pattaya News.

In related news, a municipal inspector was involved in a car accident in Pattaya while driving under the influence, resulting in injuries to four individuals, including a two year old child. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Radio Centre in Pattaya, Chon Buri, received a report at 8pm on August 24 of a car colliding with a motorcycle, causing multiple injuries.

In other news, a woman riding a motorcycle in the wrong direction was struck by a pickup truck, leading to her death. The incident was reported to the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit in Pattaya at 5am on August 11.
