Electrical leakage sparks safety concerns at Phan Thong district footbridge
A footbridge in Phan Thong district of Chon Buri is sparking concerns among residents due to a potentially dangerous electrical leakage. The bridge is situated near Phan Thong Tonson School, a busy passageway for many young students.
The issue appears to be originating from a cluster of wires entwined around an iron rail of the bridge, causing electricity to leak. As a temporary measure, paper signs warning passersby not to touch the rails have been put up at the base of the bridge.
Unthika, a scholar at Phan Thong Tonson School, expressed her fears about the safety of the bridge. She is one of the many who utilise the bridge daily.
“I want the responsible authorities to fix it.”
In addition to the students, local inhabitants also traverse the bridge regularly. Phongsak, a native of the district, revealed that several individuals have already experienced electrical shocks as a result of touching the rail. His fears are exacerbated by the thought of what could happen if someone were to cross the bridge in wet weather, a scenario that could potentially lead to more severe injuries.
He echoed Unthika’s sentiments and called for immediate action from the authorities. For him and many others, this situation is not just about a faulty bridge but about the safety of their community. The fear of the unknown and the potential danger that this bridge poses, especially to the younger population, has led to a united call for immediate intervention, reported The Pattaya News.

Until then, the hastily scrawled paper signs serve as a stark reminder of the lurking danger at the footbridge near Phan Thong Tonson School.
