The report suggested that the man had fallen off his surfboard near the Naval Medical Department of Sattahip. The rescue team, upon hearing the distress call, promptly set out to assist.
Upon reaching the scene, the rescuers spotted the man about half a nautical mile away from the shore, adrift in the sea. The team paddled out to him, providing much-needed assistance, and successfully brought him back to the shore, unscathed. Grateful for his rescue, the man thanked the team and was able to ride his motorcycle back home.
Chanchai Chiewchan, a member of the rescue team, shared the man’s ordeal. The elderly man had paddled out to the sea with the intent of fishing for squid. However, while in the middle of the Gulf of Sattahip, he started feeling dizzy and subsequently blacked out, reported by The Pattaya News.
Upon regaining consciousness, the man found himself in the water. He experienced severe back pain, which hindered him from climbing back onto the surfboard. Despite his attempts to paddle towards the shore, the distance proved too great for him. Luckily, a vigilant observer spotted him in his predicament and alerted the rescue team, leading to his safe rescue.
