Cambodian motorcyclist killed in Chon Buri crash with Porsche
A Cambodian motorcyclist was tragically killed in a high-impact crash with a luxury Porsche in Chon Buri. The deadly collision happened at 3.06am yesterday, September 1, on Soi Chaiyapreuk 2, Huay Yai. Local police and rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rushed to the scene.
The aftermath of the crash was dramatic, with tyre marks stretching over 10 metres and scattered debris from a black Honda Spacy. In the nearby grass, the body of 23 year old On, a Cambodian construction worker, was found. Sadly, he was declared dead at the scene.
Around 100 metres from where the motorcycle lay, a black Porsche Panamera was found with its front wheel detached and severe damage to the driver’s side. The driver, 37 year old Pichayapong, was at the scene and ready to talk to the police.
Pichayapong told the emergency services and police that he was driving straight when he heard a loud crash and his car’s airbags deployed. He claimed he didn’t see the motorcycle and was shocked to discover someone had died.
“I was driving straight when I heard a huge bang. The airbags went off, and I didn’t see the bike.”
Pichayapong was taken into custody for a blood test to check for alcohol. Police will also review CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The deceased’s body has been sent to Bang Lamung Hospital for further arrangements and funeral preparations, reported Pattaya News.
