Thai woman throws 300k baht ring into sea after cheating prank

A woman’s online post has sparked debate after she threw her 300,000 baht wedding ring into the sea, following a prank by her husband.

The couple, on a yacht trip on April 21, faced a turning point in their marriage when the husband’s joke about infidelity went awry.

The 29 year old woman shared her story online, describing it as the “most foolish incident” in her life. While enjoying a scenic view during their trip, her husband suddenly confessed, with a serious face, that he had been unfaithful.

Despite his playful nature, he had never joked about their marriage, relationships, or infidelity before. This unexpected and serious admission left her in shock.

In a moment of anger and heartbreak, she stood up and threw her 300,000 baht wedding ring into the ocean. Her husband was taken aback and exclaimed, “It was just a joke, I was kidding!”

Realising the gravity of her actions, the woman was devastated about losing the sentimental piece.

Their relationship deteriorated after this incident, with both parties blaming each other. The husband accused her of overreacting, while she argued that his ill-conceived joke led to her drastic response.

In her post, she admitted to throwing the ring away, acknowledging that it was lost forever. She expressed regret, but insisted that the blame should not rest solely on her shoulders, reported KhaoSod.

The woman’s story garnered significant attention online, with many criticising the husband’s actions. One social media user questioned, “Ask him what part of this was supposed to be ‘funny’? Was it breaking your wife’s heart, or making her cry?” Others pointed to the husband’s lack of maturity as the root cause of the ring’s disappearance.
