A Thai man in the Isaan province of Udon Thani is seeking help from police after a woman called offering phone sex and later blackmailed him with his explicit picture for 50,000 baht.

The victim, 48 year old Ek, told officers from Mueang Udon Thani Police Station and Channel 3 that the scammer contacted him through a LINE application and introduced herself as Annie. Ek said he was single after divorcing his wife, with whom he had a daughter, so he decided to talk to Annie.

Annie invited him to have a sex call via video conference and he agreed. According to Ek, both he and Annie were naked during the call and he had no idea that she was recording him and taking screenshots.

After the sex video call, Annie sent him a picture of herself naked with the caption, “Don’t pay for sex phone service and even used drugs during the activity.”

Annie demanded that Ek pay her 50,000 baht to delete a picture, threatening to post it on a Facebook group and his daughter’s school page if he refused. She claimed to be from a company offering legal sex chat, citing the fee as a service charge.

After Ek negotiated, Annie agreed to reduce the amount to 30,000 baht. However, Ek only transferred 5 baht and ridiculed Annie during their video call, leading her to block him. Concerned about potential publication of his naked picture, Ek sought police assistance. The bank account name indicated it belonged to a Thai man named Narongchai Luangdan.

Officers reported they would investigate the matter further and bring the suspect and those involved to justice.

In a similar report, a pregnant Thai woman sought help from a Thai news agency after a pervert secretly filmed her in a public toilet and blackmailed her for money and sex. Officials ignored her case and allowed the suspect to harass her for months.

Another similar incident in Udon Thani took place in November last year when a Thai man blackmailed his sex partner with her explicit videos after she rejected his advances.
