New ‘Red Card’ system for misbehaving foreigners | Thailand News Today

A Frenchman was fined 1,500 baht by Phuket traffic police for revving his loud rented motorbike along the Bangla Road in Phuket, southern Thailand, in the early hours of Monday morning. The incident has prompted Phuket immigration to launch ared card system for wayward foreigners which will see them deported after two offences.

Meanwhile, over 7,000 Russians in Phuket are applying for visa extensions in a bid to stay in Thailand, with 31,128 foreign nationals seeking to extend their stay in Phuket. The influx of foreign visitors has prompted the launch of awhite accommodation project to ensure the safety of foreigners and residents.

Finally, a New Zealand tourist got lost in a forest on Thailands Koh Pha Ngan island on Sunday. A team of officers from Koh Pha Ngan Tourist Police, Koh Samui Tourist Police, and several other departments began to search for the man, 56 year old Shaw Mace Bushel, and eventually managed to talk him down from a hill and bring him to Koh Pha Ngan Hospital.

The incidents demonstrate the importance of adhering to traffic rules and laws in Phuket, and the need for foreigners to be aware of the consequences of their actions. The Phuket Tourism Association, Phuket immigration, and police are all working together to ensure the safety of foreigners and residents alike.
