Mysterious bone fragments found in Nonthaburi forest
Police in Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi province, are urgently investigating mysterious bone fragments scattered in a dense forest area after a woman discovered them last night. The bones were found near a burnt rubber pile, raising suspicions of foul play.
The Bang Bua Thong Police Station in Nonthaburi received a report at 8.30pm yesterday, August 29, of bone fragments discovered in a forested area along Pu Thep Pu Chan Road in Moo 1, Bang Bua Thong subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong district. The report was immediately directed to Police Colonel Prut Chamroonsart, who led a team of patrol officers and investigators to the scene.
The scene was approximately 50 metres into the forest from the road, accessible only by a narrow 70-centimetre footpath. The area was overgrown with dense acacia trees, and numerous bone fragments were found scattered around. Additionally, a burnt rubber pile was discovered on a bare patch of ground nearby, further heightening the mystery.
A 27 year old woman who first found the bones shared her account. She mentioned that her grandmother had gone to collect acacia leaves and stumbled upon the bone fragments.
Unsure of what she had found, the grandmother returned home and described the scene to her granddaughter. The woman then contacted her siblings, and together they went to investigate.
They found numerous bone fragments and promptly alerted the police for further examination. Initially, a white fertiliser sack was also spotted at the scene but it mysteriously disappeared by the time the police arrived. The woman also reported hearing footsteps, suggesting someone might have been lurking in the forest.
Forensic examination
Police officers have since cordoned off the area, awaiting forensic experts to determine whether the bones are human. Given the dry and weathered condition of the bones, it is suspected they might have been exposed to the elements for a considerable period.
Forensic experts are expected to confirm the nature of the bones soon. The police have also intensified their search for any additional clues or evidence that might shed light on this perplexing discovery. The presence of the burnt rubber pile has also led to speculations about possible illegal activities in the area, which the police are keen to investigate further.
The investigation continues as the police aim to uncover more information regarding the origin and nature of the bones.
In the meantime, residents are urged to report any suspicious activities or additional findings to the Bang Bua Thong Police Station to aid in the ongoing investigation, reported KhaoSod.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
