Pathum Thani male motorcyclist under meth influence arrested for fatal shooting

Police apprehended the male motorcyclist responsible for chasing down and shooting a furniture craftsman, causing a fatal incident. It was revealed that the culprit had just consumed methamphetamine. The family of the deceased, who had only returned to work three months prior, expressed their grief.

The incident involved a male motorcyclist chasing and shooting at a Toyota Hilux Vigo pickup. The vehicle, registered in Bangkok, was a closed-box truck driving on Lam Luk Ka Road, heading towards Klong Seven Junction, in Moo 11, Lam Luk Ka a sub-district, Lam Luk Ka district, Pathum Thani province.

The incident led to the death of a 47 year old furniture craftsman named Kowit (surname withheld). The perpetrator then fled the scene.

The arrest was made by Police Lieutenant Colonel Suwicha Channasam, the Deputy Superintendent of Lam Luk Ka Police Station, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Itthikorn Songakorn, the Crime Suppression Sub-Division of Lam Luk Ka Police Station.

They led a team of detectives from the Lam Luk Ka Police Station. The male motorcyclist, 23 year old Pipat (surname withheld) was caught along with a 380 calibre gun, the clothes used during the incident, a black side bag, and a Yamaha motorcycle. The arrest took place at a friend’s house in Klong Kao Lam Luk Ka, after reviewing CCTV footage and tracking the suspect’s movements.

The initial interrogation of the suspect was confusing, but he later confessed to having consumed drugs. A urine test confirmed the presence of drugs as it turned out purple. The male motorcyclist was detained for further drug testing the following morning.

Previous murder

The police examination of Pipat’s criminal record revealed that the male motorcyclist in question had a previous murder case in the Nong Chok Police Station’s jurisdiction in 2016 and a drug possession case under the Lam Luk Ka Police Station in 2018. He was a minor during both cases, reported KhaoSod.

The younger brother of the deceased driver, 43 year old Mana (surname withheld) expressed his gratitude to the police of Lam Luk Ka Police Station for quickly apprehending the culprit. His deceased brother was his real sibling, using their father’s surname while Mana used their mother’s.

The body of his older brother will be taken back to their hometown in Surin Province for the funeral rites. His brother had previously worked in the same area but moved back to the countryside. He returned to work only three months ago due to the responsibility of taking care of his three children.
