Jealousy-driven shooting leaves two dead in Prachuap Khiri Khan
A shooting incident occurred in Prachuap Khiri Khan, where an ex-husband allegedly ambushed and killed his ex-wife’s new partner and friend, leaving another injured. The attack was reportedly motivated by jealousy and unfolded on a rural road in Ao Noi, a subdistrict in the Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan district.
Police were alerted to the scene at 12.30am today, December 19, where they discovered two individuals dead and one injured. The local police including senior officers and forensic teams, quickly responded to the call, accompanied by medical staff from Prachuap Hospital and a local rescue unit.
Upon arrival, they found a Honda Wave motorcycle lying on its side by the road. The driver of the motorcycle, 40 year old Patikorn, was found dead at the scene. His body showed gunshot wounds, believed to be from a 12-gauge shotgun, on the right side of his back.
Another victim, 38 year old Thongchai who was riding pillion, was discovered approximately 3 metres away under a coconut tree. He had sustained fatal gunshot injuries to the right shoulder and cheek. The injured individual, Wichian, who was sitting between the two on the motorbike, was swiftly taken to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital for further medical attention and examination.
Patikorn’s wife, 30 year old Thalsita, recounted the harrowing events to the investigators. She explained that she was travelling with her new husband and four friends along the Prong Daeng-Yan Sue Road.
They had asked a friend to bring a motorcycle to pick them up. During the journey, her ex-husband reportedly followed them on a motorcycle, overtook them, and lay in wait at a nearby junction near a pineapple plantation.
As the motorcycle carrying the victims approached, the ex-husband allegedly opened fire with a long gun, causing the bike to crash, resulting in the tragic deaths and injuries. The perpetrator then fled the scene on his motorcycle.
Police initiated a manhunt for the suspect, identified only by his nickname, Khuean, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old.
There are suspicions that he may have escaped into a forested border area, as natural pathways exist that could facilitate crossing into Myanmar.
The police have coordinated with military units and border patrols to intercept the suspect. A description of the perpetrator has been circulated to aid in his capture, reported KhaoSod.
