Influencer arrested for sexual assault in Bangkok

A well-known influencer was arrested by police for sexually assaulting an 18 year old man after establishing a close relationship through a game. The accused admitted to the crime when arrested at his condominium in the Narathiwat-Chong Nonsi area today.

The case began when Rattanamongkol Lerttavivit, a former candidate for the Din Daeng constituency from the Thai Create Thai Party, accompanied the 18 year old, referred to as A, to complain with Police Lieutenant General Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn the Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police. The teenager claimed he had been sexually assaulted by an influencer he met through the PUBG game for over two years.

At 10pm yesterday at Bang Pong Pang Police Station, the police investigation team arrested Nirut (surname withheld), a popular influencer, and searched his room at a condo in the Narathiwat-Chong Nonsi area, Yan Nawa district, Bangkok. Nirut was then handed over to the investigating officers at Bang Pong Pang Police Station, reported KhaoSod.

During the arrest, Nirut appeared calm and composed. Preliminary investigations are underway, after which charges will be filed according to the law. Nirut reportedly confessed to having a sexual relationship with the victim, regularly meeting at the condo. Their relationship ended, leading to dissatisfaction on both sides, culminating in the aforementioned incident.

In related news, a 21 year old Saraburi soldier was apprehended by the authorities for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 12 year old schoolgirl. Chaiyarat (surname withheld) first came into contact with the victim via Facebook before luring her to a friend’s house where the attack took place.

The incident, which occurred earlier this year, was brought to the attention of the authorities by the victim’s mother. Read more about this story HERE.

In other news, a 14 year old Thai girl committed suicide at Krung Thep Bridge in Bangkok after being sexually assaulted by her grandfather-in-law for more than eight years.

Bangkholaem Police Station officers and rescuers tried to save the teenage girl from the Chao Phraya River at around 11.45am on November 6. Rescuers administered CPR but were unable to save her life. Read more about this story HERE.
