The dead man was identified as Panya. His body was found face down with a shotgun and ammunition nearby, along with a red backpack. Examination of the body revealed bruising on the face but no gunshot wounds.

Nishapat, the 54 year old wife of the dead man, stated that her husband had left home on the evening of January 31 to hunt animals, as wild boars had been feeding on cassava. He used ripe jackfruit as bait and never returned. She received news of his death in the forest, noting that he frequently went hunting before his mysterious demise.

Dechachai, Panya’s 70 year old brother, mentioned that he was informed about his brother’s death in the forest, prompting him to verify the situation. Upon thorough investigation, police confirmed Panya was not shot. However, several spent shotgun shells were found near the body, which were collected as evidence.

Dechachai expressed confusion and suspicion surrounding his brother’s death, noting the presence of the spent shells at the scene. Neighbours reported hearing multiple gunshots on the night of Panya’s death but it remains unclear if these were related to his passing, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, a man, who had been unemployed for several months, visited a friend’s home to return an item but ended up sleeping in a vehicle outside. He was later found dead.
