Foreign TikToker goes viral for innocent mistake with Thai monks
A foreign man went viral on Thai social media for his TikTok video featuring an innocent mistake with two Thai monks at an airport in Thailand.
The TikTok account @thibo_fockenoy shared a video of him requesting to take a picture with two Thai monks at the airport last week. The foreign man captioned the video, “Very loving people, though. #thailand #travel #travelhacks #asia.” In the video, he stated, “Pro tip: Don’t touch monks.”
The foreign man was seen standing between the two monks and raising his arms as if to hug them for the photo. However, the monks quickly rejected his attempt and instead held his hands and arms to prevent contact.
At the end of the video, the foreign tourist issued an apology to the monks, who accepted it. The gestures and etiquette towards monks were unfamiliar to him.
The video attracted numerous comments from Thai TikTokers, who found the interaction adorable and amusing.

Although the foreigner did not disclose the temple’s name, it is speculated to be Wat Saket Ratchawora Mahawihan in Bangkok, based on the setting in the video.
He appears to be gaining more Thai followers, as many netizens have expressed their appreciation for his other videos. He recently launched another video, Thailand Food Tour, which received numerous comments and likes from Thai users.
