Fire engulfs luxury mansion in Nonthaburi, homeowner escapes

A fire broke out at a luxury mansion in the Bang Si Mueang area of Nonthaburi, forcing the homeowner to flee while having a meal. Police are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.

Officers from Bang Si Muang Police Station, along with firefighters from Sai Ma Municipality and Bang Rak Noi Subdistrict Administrative Organisation (SAO), and emergency volunteers, responded to a fire report yesterday, August 19, at 3pm within the Phet Dara community at Tha It Road, Bang Rak Noi, Mueang Nonthaburi district. Five fire trucks were dispatched to the scene.

The fire originated at the back of a large luxury house, specifically in the kitchen and the servants’ quarters. It took over 30 minutes for firefighters to control the blaze, preventing it from spreading further. Upon inspection, after the fire was extinguished, significant damage was found in the kitchen and the servants’ quarters, with the flames also spreading extensively to the ceiling.

Chanin Sa-ard, an emergency volunteer, mentioned that the fire likely started in a storage room or laundry room. The flames then spread to the adjacent kitchen, causing severe damage, particularly to the ceiling.

The affected area covers approximately 30 square metres, including the kitchen, storage room, and servants’ quarters. The homeowner stated that during the incident, they were having a meal inside the house when they smelled smoke.

Upon investigation, they discovered that the fire had started from the servants’ quarters and had spread to the kitchen. The homeowner quickly called the police and fire department.

The police have taken initial photographs of the scene and interviewed the homeowner. Preliminary suspicions suggest that the fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit. However, the forensic department will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
