Fire at Sa Kaeo warehouse sends smoke across city
Firefighters race against time as blaze consumes entire warehouse

A significant fire broke out at a second-hand goods shop and warehouse in Mueang Sa Kaeo district, Sa Kaeo province, covering the city with smoke visible from over 10 kilometres away.
The blaze started at 3pm yesterday, May 7. Police Lieutenant Saroj Buppha from Sa Kaeo Police Station was informed of the fire at a location on the 359 Highway, near a PTT petrol station.
The fire occurred at a business named Nukul, situated in Moo 7, Sa Kwan subdistrict, operating in second-hand goods like refrigerators, metal, and plastic items. The fire produced thick black smoke that engulfed the area, prompting a response from emergency services.
More than 20 fire trucks from nearby areas and local administrative organisations were called to control the blaze, which lasted over four hours. The business owners used backhoes to remove some foam and plastic materials, while firefighters and foundation volunteers continued to douse the flames, managing to contain the fire by 6pm to over 80%.
Sa Kwan subdistrict administrative organisation chief, Thawatchai Thongthap, along with provincial council members and rescue officials from various agencies, assisted at the scene.
Initially, one person sustained minor injuries and was taken to Somdej Phra Yupparat Sa Kaeo Hospital. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the total damage has not yet been assessed, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, a fire broke out in a battery storage room for solar panels, with the cause still unknown. The homeowner’s son reported hearing multiple explosions before the blaze spread. Emergency responders quickly contained the fire, preventing it from affecting nearby homes.
At 5.30 pm on May 6, the 191 emergency center of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police received a report of the fire at a residence located at 88/202, Village No. 2, Baan Krot subdistrict, Bang Pa-in district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. Fire trucks from Ban Krot municipality were dispatched to the scene.
