Initial investigations revealed that both victims were Myanmar nationals, suggesting that unfamiliarity with the treacherous stretch of road may have contributed to the accident. The motorcycle appeared to have failed to negotiate a bend, causing the rider to lose control and both to fall by the wayside. Following the accident, law enforcement officials have initiated an inquiry and are taking the necessary legal steps.

A similar event was reported early this month. In Phuket, a 33 year old man lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident.
