A young couple from Penang, Malaysia, has mysteriously disappeared, leaving their families in turmoil after a layover in Bangkok more than three weeks ago.

The missing pair, 21 year old Wu Mingson and his 23 year old girlfriend Wu Yingying, have not been heard from since early September. The chilling details have been shared by Mingson’s cousin, Shii Yiing Tan, in a Facebook post appealing for help.

Tan revealed that Mingson had informed his mother about a job opportunity as a driver that would take him to the UK for a month, but he first had a stopover in Bangkok on September 4. He contacted his mother a day later on September 5, asking how to order food in Thai. The last known contact was on September 8, when Mingson assured his mother about packing warm clothes for the UK.

Yet, Yingying told her family a different story. She mentioned she was heading to Spain, and even sent a video to a friend showing her at an airport. She later shared that their luggage and important documents had gone missing, claiming they would be stuck in Spain for up to two months.

In a heartbreaking twist, neither family has heard from the couple since. While their families remain on edge, police initially refused to file a missing persons report due to a lack of evidence. However, reports have now been lodged, though no significant updates have been made.

Tan urges anyone with information to come forward. The family has shared contact numbers, hoping for any lead that might bring them closer to finding their loved ones, reported Mustshare News.
