Thailand’s north cools down while the south and Bangkok face thunderstorms
The Meteorological Department warned that the weather today in the north and northeast of Thailand is starting to cool down, while the south and Bangkok are still experiencing thunderstorms and gusty winds. A high-pressure system or cold mass is still covering the upper part of the country, while another strong high-pressure system or cold mass has spread to cover southern China, causing thunderstorms and gusty winds in some parts of the upper part of Thailand initially, and subsequently, temperatures will drop, with cold to cold weather and strong winds.
In the north, the weather is cold in the morning with 20% of the area experiencing thunderstorms and gusty winds in some places. This is mostly in the provinces of Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun. The lowest temperature is 21 to 24 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature is 31 to 34 degrees Celsius. The mountaintops are cold to cold, with the lowest temperatures between 9 and 17 degrees Celsius.
The northeast has cold weather in the morning with 20% of the area experiencing thunderstorms and gusty winds in some places, mostly in the provinces of Loei, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, and Surin. The lowest temperature is 19 to 23 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature is 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. The mountaintops are cold to cold, with the lowest temperatures between 14 and 19 degrees Celsius.
The central region has thunderstorms in 30% of the area and gusty winds in some places, mainly in the provinces of Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphanburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, and Samut Sakhon. The lowest temperature is 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature is 32 to 33 degrees Celsius reported KhaoSod.
The east has thunderstorms in 30% of the area and gusty winds in some places, mainly in the provinces of Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat. The lowest temperature is 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature is 33 to 34 degrees Celsius. The sea has waves about 1 metre high, and the waves are 1 and 2 metres high away from the shore. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are more than 2 metres high.
The southeast coast has thunderstorms in 70% of the area and heavy rain in some places, mostly in the provinces of Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Pattalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. The lowest temperature is 24 to 25 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature is 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. The sea has waves about 2 metres high, and in areas with thunderstorms, waves are more than 2 metres high.
The southwest coast has thunderstorms in 60% of the area, mainly in the provinces of Phang Nga, Krabi, and Trang. The lowest temperature is 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature is 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. The sea has waves about 1 metre high, and in areas with thunderstorms, waves are more than 2 metres high.
Bangkok and its vicinity have thunderstorms in 30% of the area and gusty winds in some places. The lowest temperature is 25 to 26 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature is 33 to 34 degrees Celsius.
