Brace for a wild Thai-m: Storms set to reign over 45 provinces

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued its first warning of summer storm forecast, predicting thunderstorms and strong winds affecting 45 provinces, including Bangkok. The weather conditions are expected to intensify from April 12 to April 14.
Over the next 24 hours, upper Thailand will experience hot weather, with particularly high temperatures in the north and central regions. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are anticipated due to low pressure from heat and winds from the south and southeast affecting the area.
Residents in these regions are advised to be cautious of potential weather hazards and to take care of their health by avoiding prolonged outdoor activities in the heat.
During the Songkran festival, there is a warning for summer storms in several areas, with thunderstorms and strong winds expected. In the south, thunderstorms will occur due to easterly and southeasterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Waves in these seas are around 1 metre high, rising to over 2 metres during thunderstorms. Sailors are advised to avoid these areas.
From April 12 to April 14, upper Thailand will see summer storms, characterised by thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and possible lightning, caused by moderate high-pressure air from China moving over the northeastern region and the South China Sea. This will bring moisture into upper Thailand, already experiencing hot weather.
The air conditions are affecting dust and smog accumulation in the north and northeast, which remains moderate to high but is likely to stabilise or decrease due to rainfall.
