Heavy rain and flood warnings across 38 Thai provinces
Flood risks rise as storms sweep across the nation

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast heavy rain across 38 provinces in Thailand, with Bangkok also expected to be affected.
Residents have been advised to exercise caution due to potential flooding and flash floods. The weather conditions are attributed to a monsoon trough affecting the northern, northeastern, eastern, and southwestern regions of the country.
The TMD predicted thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in certain areas, particularly in Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong, and Phang Nga. The TMD highlighted the risk of sudden flooding and forest runoff, especially in hilly areas near waterways and low-lying regions.
The monsoon trough is currently passing over upper northern Thailand and moving towards a low-pressure area in Laos and northern Vietnam. Additionally, moderate southwest monsoon winds are covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. In light of these conditions, the TMD has warned of heavy rainstorms across 38 provinces, urging caution.
Marine conditions in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand are expected to be moderate. The upper Andaman Sea may experience waves up to 2 metres high, with higher waves in stormy areas.
Similarly, the upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea are forecast to have waves ranging from 1 to 2 metres, with higher waves in thunderstorms. Boaters are advised to navigate with care and avoid sailing in stormy areas.
