The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a weather warning, highlighting the arrival of a moderately to fairly strong cold air mass from China affecting upper Thailand and the South China Sea.
This weather pattern is causing temperatures to drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius across the area, accompanied by strong winds. In northeastern Thailand, the weather is cold to chilly, while other regions including the north, central, Bangkok, and its vicinity, as well as the upper southern region, will experience cool mornings.
In the mountainous areas, temperatures are plunging to cold to very cold levels, prompting residents to take precautions against the chill and potential fire hazards due to dry and windy conditions.
The northeastern monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand, southern Thailand, and the Andaman Sea is relatively strong, leading to isolated thunderstorms in some eastern parts of southern Thailand. The Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are experiencing relatively strong waves.
The lower Gulf of Thailand sees waves reaching 2 to 3 metres, with areas experiencing thunderstorms seeing waves exceeding 3 metres. In the upper Gulf, waves are around 2 metres, with stormy areas seeing higher waves.
The Andaman Sea generally has 1 metre high waves, rising beyond 1 metre offshore. Mariners in the Gulf and Andaman regions are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in stormy areas, with small boats in the lower Gulf urged to stay ashore.

Air quality in upper Thailand is currently moderate to relatively high in terms of dust and haze accumulation, but is expected to improve as the prevailing winds strengthen.
