Today, the Meteorological Department issued a 24-hour weather forecast for Thailand, indicating that a combination of southerly winds and southeasterly winds will bring moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea. Covering Northern Thailand, the region will experience weakening strength, leading to scattered thunderstorms and strong wind gusts in some areas. Residents in the north are advised to be cautious of hazards from thunderstorms and strong winds. Farmers should prepare and watch for potential damage to crops and danger to livestock.

For the southeasterly winds blowing and spreading over the southern part of Thailand, the Andaman Sea, and the Gulf of Thailand, there will be occasional thunderstorms. Residents in affected areas are warned of potential hazards from these storms. In the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, waves will rise to about 1 metre, with waves increasing to over 2 metres in areas with thunderstorms. Boaters are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in stormy areas.

Between today and May 1, a high-pressure area, or a mass of cool air from China, will spread and cover northern Thailand and the South China Sea. This will result in stronger southerly and south-easterly winds, bringing in moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea. Northern Thailand will experience hot weather, giving rise to summer storms characterised by thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, and occasional hail in some areas. There may also be some lightning strikes in certain regions.

During this period, the accumulation of dust particles in the air will be minimal in northeastern, central, eastern, and southern regions, as rain continues to fall and air circulation remains good. The exceptions are in the northern region, where dust particle accumulation will range from moderate to relatively high levels.
