Pattaya launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enriching the travel experience for Chinese tourists. The Pattaya Business and Tourism Association, led by Boon-anan Pattanasin, hosted a meeting at the Sabai Sabana Hotel on Pattaya Soi 2 to unveil the “Wei Tai Guo” application.

During the event, Panawika Limpaphan, Executive Chairman of Digilink (Thailand) Co., Ltd., introduced the new app. Panawika emphasised its partnership with WeChat Pay, aiming to make it an indispensable tool for Chinese tourists visiting Thailand.

“Wei Tai Guo offers a wealth of information on Thai tourism, covering 66 attractive cities across the country. All the details are provided in Chinese, effectively eliminating language barriers.”

The app also facilitates convenient payment options, offering “Payment on Ground” and “Payment on Service” for booking various services, restaurants, and show tickets. This ease of transaction is expected to be particularly beneficial for the target audience, which consists of Free Independent Travelers (FIT) from the middle class and above. These individuals represent 80.6% of Chinese tourists and typically have an income of 500 million baht.

Digilink has secured partnerships with over 100,000 entrepreneurs nationwide to join the Wei Tai Guo platform. This collaboration is anticipated to attract a substantial number of quality Chinese tourists to Thailand, significantly boosting the tourism sector.

This initiative not only aims to enhance the travel experience for Chinese visitors but also to promote Thai tourism on a global scale, reported Pattaya News.

In related news, Pattaya‘s hospitality sector is witnessing a notable influx of Chinese visitors, a development credited to the newly introduced Thai-China free visa policy. This detail was shared by Boonkerd Suksrikan, Vice President of the Eastern Thai Hotels Association.

The visa policy, which became effective on the first day of March, permits Chinese nationals to remain in Thailand for 30 days per visit. The cumulative stay, however, must not exceed 90 days within 180 days.
