A family returning from a birthday celebration met with a tragic accident when their pickup truck suffered a tyre blowout and crashed into an electricity pole.
Police Lieutenant Aumnaj Chanbutr, Deputy Inspector at Nong Khao Police Station in Kanchanaburi province, yesterday, May 5, at 9.34pm, received a report of a serious accident on U Thong-Kanchanaburi Road, opposite the entrance to Nong Yai Dok Khao subdistrict’s municipal office. The incident resulted in multiple injuries and fatalities.
At the scene, officers discovered a white Isuzu D-Max pickup, registration บว 032 Kanchanaburi, with a blown right rear tyre, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash into a high-voltage pole. Inside the vehicle were five people. Emergency services had to use cutting tools to extract both the injured and deceased.
The driver, 29 year old Nattawut Phansomboon, was found deceased in the driver’s seat. Beside him was his wife, Suphansa Odthon, who also perished in the crash. In her arms was their severely injured one year old daughter, Haru.
In the rear cab, their sons, 9 year old Mark and 11 year old Max, were also critically injured. Haru and Mark remained conscious and were swiftly taken to Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, despite administering CPR for over 10 minutes, Max’s heart stopped, leading to his death.
Upon hearing the devastating news, Nattawut’s family arrived at the scene, overwhelmed with grief at the loss of Nattawut, his wife, and their eldest son, while the other two children battled severe injuries.

A relative explained that before the accident, Nattawut had taken his family to a restaurant in Kanchanaburi city to celebrate his birthday, reported KhaoSod.
On their way home, locals near the accident site reported hearing a loud noise resembling a tyre explosion, followed by the sight of Nattawut’s vehicle spiralling out of control and crashing into the pole, resulting in the tragic outcomes.
