Death dash: Thai man killed after running into traffic in Chon Buri

A 35 year old Thai man met a tragic end on Ban Huai Khai Nao Road, Bang Lamung, when he deliberately darted into oncoming traffic. While one quick-thinking driver narrowly swerved to avoid him, a second vehicle was unable to stop in time, resulting in a fatal collision.
Police Lieutenant Monthathip Thongsai from the Huai Yai Police Station received a report about a man attempting to jump in front of vehicles. The road where the incident occurred is in Mueang subdistrict, Chon Buri.
Upon arrival, police and rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation found the dead man wearing a red long-sleeved shirt and black shorts, without any identification documents.
The driver of the first vehicle recounted that the deceased had been walking along the roadside before suddenly running into the path of the car. Fortunately, the driver was travelling at a moderate speed, allowing him to swerve and avoid a collision. However, the man attempted to open the car door, prompting the driver to continue driving and contact the police.
Upon the driver’s return to the scene, he found the man lying lifeless in the middle of the road. The vehicle’s dashcam captured the entire event. It is believed that the man attempted the same action with another vehicle, which ultimately led to the fatal incident.
Police documented the scene and collected evidence, including dashcam footage, to determine the cause of the accident. Further investigation will include reviewing CCTV footage to understand the sequence of events leading to the man’s death, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, a well-dressed woman startled a driver by leaping onto the bonnet of her car, causing visible damage. The incident, which took place on March 3, has reportedly involved multiple victims, and police are now pursuing the suspect for legal action.
