Motorcyclist dies in Lampang crash, tragic call reveals news
A tragic accident claimed the life of a young man when his motorcycle veered off the road and struck a utility pole, resulting in his immediate death. While police and medical personnel were examining the scene, a call came through on the deceased’s phone, delivering the heartbreaking news to a shocked woman.
Around 8.45pm yesterday, December 26, Siriwetch Jaisanwong, a deputy inspector at Khelang Nakhon Police Station in Lampang province, received a report of a motorcycle crash. The incident took place on a village road in the eastern part of Lampang Central, Village 11, Chomphu subdistrict, Mueang Lampang district.
The crash resulted in the death of the male rider. Upon receiving the report, the officer coordinated with the forensic doctors from Lampang Hospital and immediately proceeded to the scene alongside the Amarin Rescue Association.
At the accident site, the body of a 33 year old man was found lying lifeless in the middle of the road. He resided in Village 1, Tha Pha subdistrict, Ko Kha district, Lampang province.
Nearby, a blue Honda Wave motorcycle, lacking a license plate, was discovered overturned by the roadside. A shattered blue helmet lay close by. Evidence at the scene indicated that the motorcycle had lost control, crashing through a hedge before violently colliding with the utility pole.
During the investigation, the deceased’s phone rang, prompting a member of the Amarin rescue team to answer. On the other end of the line was a woman calling out the deceased’s name, asking why he hadn’t answered earlier.
The rescue worker explained the situation, identifying themselves as a rescue officer, and had the difficult task of informing her of the tragic accident and the man’s death. The call ended with the woman expressing her grief, reported KhaoSod.
Shortly thereafter, the deceased’s friends and relatives arrived at the scene, engulfed in sorrow. The officials initially transported the body to the hospital for further examination and began legal proceedings. The family will later be able to take the body for religious rites.
