A man found dead with multiple stab wounds near a roadside pavilion in Lop Buri has been identified. The deceased was named as 40 year old Komsan, missing for over two years. Police are investigating his death, while family members are puzzled by his presence in the area.

Yesterday, March 11, Police Colonel Chaimit Sitthipoon of the Phatthana Nikhom District Police in Lop Buri reported that an investigation team has been dispatched to gather information and expedite the resolution of the case.

Initial investigations have involved questioning local homeless people and examining CCTV footage from nearby businesses to gather clues.

Komsan was initially presumed to be a homeless person or an undocumented immigrant due to the contents found in his backpack. However, the cause of death and potential murder motives remain undetermined, pending further medical examination and identity verification through fingerprint analysis.

Currently, the body is held at Phatthana Nikhom Hospital, awaiting potential identification by family or acquaintances.

Later that day, at approximately 1.45pm, Komsan’s relatives confirmed his identity at the hospital. Komsan had disappeared over two years ago after fleeing a hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima, where he was undergoing drug addiction treatment.

His wife and family had been searching for him since his escape, unaware of how he ended up in Lop Buri.

The police are now focusing on the possibility that Komsan was killed by a fellow homeless person. Witnesses, including local vendors, reported seeing several homeless people frequenting the pavilion, suggesting that it might be a gathering place for them, reported KhaoSod.

The police are pursuing leads on two to three people seen in the area and are reviewing available CCTV footage, although visibility is limited due to the distance from the crime scene.
