Gunman sought after shooting at molam singer’s car in Khon Kaen
A gunman has been issued with an arrest warrant after shooting at a molam singer’s car, peppering it with bullets. Police detained a woman who was in the car during the incident and questioned her for two hours.
Tanadol Ballangsaprom, a 25 year old molam singer and owner of the band Sua Theeraphon Chailert, reported the shooting to the Khon Kaen City Police Station. The assailant, driving a black Toyota Corolla Altis, fired shots at Tanadol’s vehicle, causing significant damage.
Fortunately, no one was injured or killed. The perpetrator fled the scene after the incident.
Police yesterday, July 30, detained a woman captured on CCTV in a white Honda Civic belonging to the gunman. The police questioned her for approximately two hours before releasing her.
Police Colonel Yossawat Kaewsibthanyanit, Superintendent of Khon Kaen City Police Station, stated that they have identified the gunman. Known by the nickname Oat, the 25 year old suspect faces charges of attempted murder.
Oat has reportedly contacted the police expressing his intention to surrender. He claims to have travelled to Ang Thong province after the incident and plans to return to Khon Kaen City Police Station, though the exact time remains unspecified. The investigation will continue upon his surrender, focusing on the firearm and vehicle used in the shooting, reported KhaoSod.
In related news, a man involved in a shooting incident with a municipal employee in Sai Ma municipality surrendered to police after firing his gun at a municipal employee in his vehicle. Police have filed four charges against him and granted bail.
A Sai Ma municipal employee, 42 year old Saranyut reported to the police yesterday after being shot at while driving his municipal vehicle.
The incident occurred at 8.45am in Soi Bang Rak Noi 17, Bang Rak Noi subdistrict, Mueng district, Nonthaburi province. The vehicle sustained multiple bullet holes, and Saranyut was injured by shattered glass.
