An 83 year old man was apprehended at a shrimp pond after allegedly killing his former lover during a dispute.

The incident involved Boonsri, who reportedly stabbed 60 year old Natthida Milom, known as Auntie Malee, following an altercation on February 21 in Ban Pong district, Ratchaburi province. Boonsri escaped the scene on an old motorcycle after the event, which occurred at 7.30pm.

Yesterday, February 23 at 7pm, Police Colonel Piyapong Wongketjai, along with an investigative team, arrested Boonsri under an arrest warrant issued by Ratchaburi provincial court, numbered J.119/2025. He was found at a shelter near a shrimp pond in Mueang district, Nakhon Pathom province.

During questioning, Boonsri appeared exhausted and distressed, eventually confessing to the murder. He explained that he and Malee had been in an on-and-off relationship for over 20 years, during which she dated other men but continued to ask him for financial support monthly.

Boonsri provided her with varying amounts, once giving up to 40,000 baht (US$1,200) from the sale of his shop units, hoping for companionship in his later years. A month prior, Malee ended the relationship, revealing a new partner.

This left Boonsri feeling rejected. On January 27, he noticed Malee’s bicycle with a flat tyre at her employer’s house and took it for repairs, expecting her to collect it from his home. However, Malee accused him of theft, despite him having paid for the bicycle, leading to further conflict.

On the evening of February 21, while sitting outside his home, Boonsri saw Malee cycling past and called her over to request she withdraw the complaint. Malee refused and demanded an additional 5,000 baht (US$150) to settle a debt, resulting in an argument.

Malee slapped Boonsri and attacked him with a fruit knife, injuring his head. In response, Boonsri wrested the knife from her and retaliated, leaving Malee on the ground. Panicked, he fled on his motorcycle, later hiding it near an irrigation canal in Pak Rat subdistrict, Ban Pong, and hitchhiked to the shrimp pond, claiming to its owner he had argued with his wife.

Boonsri changed his bloodstained clothes and contacted his daughter using a resident’s phone. After speaking with her, he planned to surrender to Ban Pong Police Station the following Tuesday but was arrested beforehand. He expressed remorse for his actions, reported KhaoSod.

Pol. Col. Piyapong revealed that, following intense investigation, a tip-off from a citizen led to Boonsri’s arrest. Boonsri, suspected of hiding at the shrimp pond shelter, was taken into custody and charged with intentional murder.
