A skirmish erupted between the members of the Pha Mueang military patrol squad and a group of alleged drug smugglers in the Ban Muang Chum area of Fang, Chiang Mai. This encounter occurred in the early hours of December 2, around 2 am. The altercation, which lasted for over five minutes, led to the discovery of a substantial amount of illicit substances.

Following the receipt of a report about the shooting, Fang police officers and associated agencies arrived at the scene for further investigation at roughly 11am. Their examination of the site led them to four backpacks abandoned in the heat of the battle. Inside these bags, they discovered more than 400,000 amphetamine pills, reported The Pattaya News.

As the officers scoured the area, they came across traces of blood. This suggested that some of the alleged drug traffickers could have sustained injuries during the shootout. Nevertheless, there hasn’t been any further information regarding the identities of these individuals or their possible ties to other criminal operatives.

After the initial investigation, the Fang police officers seized the illegal drugs. They vowed to carry out additional investigations to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in this unlawful act.
