Drunk tourist walks naked through Phuket, sparks outrage

A drunk foreign tourist was filmed walking naked through the streets of Phuket Town, prompting locals to voice concerns about the growing problem of unruly visa-free tourists.
The Facebook page โหดจัง จังหวัดภูเก็ต shared a shocking video of a foreign man stumbling down Rattanakosin 200 Years Road in Talat Nuea subdistrict, Mueang district, completely naked.
The man, visibly intoxicated, appeared to be posing for the camera as he leisurely walked towards the Phuket Vocational College intersection, seemingly oblivious to the public attention he was drawing.
As the video went viral, locals quickly voiced their frustration. The caption “Visitors without visas are seen every day” resonated with many, as the incident highlighted a growing concern about the impact of Thailand’s visa-free policy.
Many netizens expressed anger, questioning whether the influx of tourists under this policy was leading to an increase in inappropriate and disruptive behaviour.
One asked, “If we report this to the police, will they face charges? Should there even be such behaviour tolerated?”
The incident, which saw the naked man parading down a popular street, is not an isolated case. Locals commented about similar disruptions caused by tourists.
“If there were no visa-free policy, this wouldn’t happen.”
“Can someone use a slingshot to shoot the worms?”
“Weird and embarrassing.”
Witnesses confirmed that the tourist had been staying at a nearby hotel on Rattanakosin 200 Years Road before he decided to walk through the busy street in a state of intoxication, reported Amarin TV.
In another incident, a nude photo scandal rocked Hat Yai, with a group of men posting explicit outdoor photos at sacred sites.
The images, shared on the social media platform X, have sparked outrage among locals. The group, known as OutdoorHDY, staged their provocative photoshoots at various public locations across Hat Yai Municipality in Songkhla province.
One of the most controversial photos was taken in front of the Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Maharat Buddha statue at Khao Kho Hong viewpoint, a highly revered site for the community. The photos, depicting the men naked, have been widely condemned for their disrespect and inappropriate nature.
These incidents come in a series of others, including one where a Chinese couple was caught engaging in public sex in Pattaya earlier this month.
In February, an unidentified foreign man was seen strolling naked near a 7-Eleven convenience store. The surge in such incidents has led to discussions among tourism officials about the need for stricter controls and better screening of tourists to prevent further disruptions and maintain respect for Thailand’s cultural heritage.
