Thai woman exposes police husband’s corruption after cheating and assault
A Thai woman exposed her police husband‘s corruption after he cheated on her and allowed his mistress to physically assault her on December 30 last year.
The 39 year old woman, Ae, took legal action against her unfaithful husband and publicly revealed his corrupt behaviour. She decided to do so after he barred her from seeing her children, and his superior ignored her complaint about the adultery.
Ae told the media that she married the police officer and signed a marriage certificate with him in 2004. They lived apart, with Ae residing in Surat Thani while her husband and their three children lived in Chumphon.
Due to the distance, Ae discovered her husband’s infidelity on more than several occasions in the past. However, she forgave him each time, as she did not want their children to be negatively affected.
Ae said that she travelled to Chumphon frequently to visit her husband and children, but in recent years, he began denying her access. He also forbade her from seeing the children, claiming she displayed violent behaviour towards them.
Ae denied these allegations, insisting she had never hurt her children or shown any aggression. She grew suspicious of her husband’s extramarital affairs, and her suspicions were confirmed on December 30 last year.
Ae followed her husband and found him in a car with their children and his mistress. She confronted them by blocking their vehicle. Ae claimed the mistress rushed to physically assault her and insulted her appearance.
The police husband allegedly failed to intervene during the assault and allowed his mistress to harm Ae. In a fit of anger, Ae admitted she grabbed a Stanley knife from the car and stabbed her husband three times.
Following the incident, Ae filed an adultery complaint with her husband’s superior but officials refused to act, stating it was a personal family matter. She also lodged a complaint against the mistress for physical assault.
Neither case progressed, prompting Ae to publicly expose her husband’s corrupt practices. She presented a notebook containing a list of names alongside the amounts of bribes they paid to her husband.
Channel 7 attempted to interview the police officer for his side of the story but he declined to speak with the media and no satisfactory conclusion was reached by the couple in their dispute.
