Thai man arrested for pimping out 16 year old boy to sex creator

Police arrested a Thai man in the central province of Prachin Buri for pimping out a 16 year old boy to a sex creator who sold child pornography on X (Twitter).

Officers from the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD) arrested the 24 year old Thai man, Weerayut, also known as Toey, at his home in the Nadee district of Prachin Buri province yesterday, July 11. Weerayut was reportedly a hunter well-known to locals in the area.

Weerayut’s arrest followed the apprehension of the sex content creator, 19 year old Natpakan Somsuk, on April 19. Natpakan was caught promoting pornographic videos of himself and various men, including the 16 year old boy, on the X application.

Natpakan asked his followers to pay 199 baht for a membership to access over 40 pornographic content in a private group. He confessed that he ran the group for a year and earned around 30,000 baht a month.

Further questioning of Natpakan led police to Weerayut, who was found to have pimped the 16 year old boy to Natpakan.

ATPD officers did not reveal the official charges against Weerayut. Based on reports of previous similar cases, Weerayut was expected to face three charges including:

• Section 282 of the Criminal Law: procuring, luring, or taking away any person to satisfy the desire of others even if that person agrees. The penalty will be imprisonment from one to 10 years and a fine from 2,000 to 200,000 baht.
• Section 317 of the Criminal Law: taking children aged under 15 years old from their parents. The penalty will be imprisonment from three to 15 years and a fine from 6,000 to 30,000 baht.
• Section 26(5) of the Child Protection Act: forcing, threatening, inducing, encouraging, or allowing children to behave inappropriately or perform obscene acts. The penalty will be imprisonment of up to three months, a fine of up to 30,000 baht, or both.

In a similar report in January, a 19 year old Thai man was arrested for procuring a 13 year old boy. He advertised the sex service online and would send the boy to the customers’ homes. He confessed to charging each client 2,000 baht each time. He kept 1,000 baht for himself and gave another 1,000 baht to the boy.
