Early yesterday at 4am, police received reports of a violent altercation involving firearms at the entrance of Soi Phahonyothin 48, in front of a convenience store. Upon arriving at the scene, they found 60 year old Veerasak, a motorcycle taxi driver, who recounted that while waiting for passengers, two teenage boys on a motorcycle began arguing with another group of teenagers.

One of the boys, seated on the back of the motorcycle, fired a single gunshot from an unidentified firearm. The bullet missed its intended target and struck Veerasak in the left ankle, injuring him. The two teenagers then fled on their motorcycle.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage and interviewed witnesses at the scene, which led them to identify the suspects. Officers subsequently went to the suspects’ residence and detained them for further questioning at Bang Khen Police Station.

During the interrogation, Rattaphum admitted that he and Chaimongkol were indeed the perpetrators, as evidenced by the CCTV footage. Rattaphum, who was riding pillion, used a .38-calibre pen gun to shoot at their rivals, but the bullet inadvertently struck Veerasak.

After the shooting, they disposed of the pen gun in a pond on Soi Ramintra 5 before returning to their residence, where they were eventually apprehended by the police. The suspects have been charged with attempted murder and are proceeding with legal action, reported KhaoSod.
