A Swiss man suffered head and leg injuries after he accidentally fell from the third floor of a condominium in Pattaya while smoking at 5am today.

The accident was reported to the Sawang Borriboon Dhammasatan Rescue Team at 5am today, December 7, where rescuers rushed to the scene in the Jomtien neighbourhood of Pattaya.

At the scene, the rescuers found a 27 year old Swiss man, mentioned as Louis, lying still on the ground in front of the condo. Officers reported that Louis had a broken leg and an eyebrow wound. They provided him with first aid and took him to a hospital for further treatment.

Another foreign man, claiming to be a friend of Louis, informed the rescuers that Louis was smoking a cigarette on the balcony of their shared room on the third floor of the building when he accidentally fell.

However, the friend did not provide specific details about the moments leading up to the accident to the officers. Information regarding the victim’s current condition was not disclosed to the public

Another accidental fall occurred last month in Pattaya involving a five year old Thai girl. The girl fell from the balcony of her room on the fifth floor. Luckily, her fall was broken by an awning on the fourth floor. She lay still on the awning due to a stomach injury.

A neighbour, 47 year old Suppalerk Singka, heard a loud noise and noticed the girl’s precarious position, so contacted a rescue team and managed to get help just in time.

The girl revealed that her mother was away for work. She was alone in the room when the accident happened. She went out of the room to the balcony and leaned against the railing to take in the view before accidentally falling.

Another fall was reported in June when a Thai teenager fell from the balcony of his sixth-floor room in a condominium in Chon Buri. The victim was naked and had injuries all over his body when he fell onto the windscreen of a car in the car park.

Due to his injuries, A was unable to provide any information to officers, so the cause of his fall remained unclear. The victim’s friend, who had fallen asleep in the room, did not notice the fall until after the emergency services arrived.
