Siriraj Hospital to air programme for Prince Mahidol Day fundraising

Siriraj Hospital is set to broadcast a special television programme this Saturday, September 14, to honour Prince Mahidol Day, which is on September 24, encouraging public donations for a noble cause.

Dr Apichat Asavamongkolkul, dean of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, highlighted that Prince Mahidol Day commemorates the late prince’s significant contributions to medical education in Thailand. Prince Mahidol’s unwavering dedication to the health and well-being of the Thai people laid the groundwork for the country’s modern medical and public health systems.

The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital organises an event annually to pay tribute to Prince Mahidol’s commitment and to raise funds to assist underprivileged patients at Siriraj Hospital.

This year, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana will serve as the chairperson of the fundraising campaign.

Dr Apichat mentioned that the special programme, themed Siriraj Surgery Room – Life Goes On, will be aired on Saturday from 4pm to 6pm. Broadcast coverage will be provided by the Army Radio and Television Station, TNN 2 (True Vision 784), and Thai Rath TV (Channel 32).

The event will also be available for live streaming on Facebook Live through the Sirirajpr, TV5HD Online, Special Affairs and Corporate Relations, and TNN2 True Vision 784 Facebook pages, as well as on YouTube via TNN2 True Vision 784.

Online contributions are welcome via the Siriraj Foundation’s website.

Funds can also be deposited at any bank branch nationwide under the account name Siriraj Foundation, with receipts eligible for income tax deductions.

Additional donation options include boxes placed at Siriraj Hospital, where Mahidol University students will be on hand to collect contributions.

This annual event not only honours the legacy of Prince Mahidol but also plays a crucial role in supporting those in need of medical assistance, embodying the prince’s enduring spirit of compassion and service, reported Bangkok Post.
