Legendary Thai boxers and best friends Sombat “Buakaw” Banchamek and Supachai “Saenchai” Saepong are set to step into the ring under a special rule for the 5th Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) Thailand – Legend of Siam. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 4, at Royal Cliff Hotel Group in Pattaya.

BKFC ASIA officially announced that the 5th BKFC Thailand will mark the very first occasion when the close friends, Buakaw and Saenchai, will engage in a face-off.

Adding a touch of madness to the bout, a new and special rule will be introduced, fighting with bare hands. The contest will unfold over two rounds, each lasting two minutes.

Buakaw gave an interview about the upcoming match in a recent press conference.

“Even though I am close friends with Saenchai, there will be no holding back. It is going to be a genuine fight with real pain. Fans cannot afford to miss this, as a bout of this nature has never occurred before. It will be a gift for martial arts enthusiasts as the year comes to a close. Fans will not be disappointed. I am willing to bet on my dignity.”

Saenchai also expressed the same commitment to fight even though his rival is his friend.

“While we hold respect for our friendship, once inside the boxing ring, our professionalism takes precedence. There will be no reluctance to uphold our dignity, and we are committed to upholding the reputation of the sport.

“I would like to express my gratitude to both Buakaw’s fans and my fans for their unwavering support. Despite disagreements from some of our fans who are against us fighting each other, I want to clarify that this bout is not about determining superiority. It is a contest aimed at garnering global attention for martial arts. Through the unique rules applied to this Bare-Knuckle Thai Fight, we are confident that fans will be treated to an exhilarating match that will keep them on the edge of their seats!”

Founder and CFO of BKFC Asia, along with the CEOs of Royal Cliff Hotels Group and Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall, Vathanai Vathanakul, unveiled that the 5th BKFC Thailand – Legend of Siam is relocating to Thailand from its previous Middle Eastern setting.

Vathanakul detailed that the organisers aimed to elevate Muay Thai to meet international standards and spotlight the Thai boxers who are second to none on the world stage. Furthermore, the event seeks to bolster newcomers in BKFC, a sport experiencing rapid growth across Asia, Europe, and the US.

Alongside the monumental Buakaw-Saenchai match, the event includes another 12 bouts from boxers from around the world. Two World boxing championships are slated: Po Deman of Thailand against the US’s Britain Hart, and Frankkee versus Seansuek, both boxers from Thailand.

The event will take place at the Royal Cliff Hotel Group in Pattaya on November 4 from 6pm onwards. Tickets will be available for purchase starting August 31. Standing tickets are priced at 500 and 1,000 baht while seating tickets range from 2,500 to 3,000 baht. For those seeking a ringside view, VIP tickets can be acquired for 7,000 baht, including an exclusive dinner.

Ticket purchasers will enjoy exclusive privileges and discounts at the Royal Cliff Hotel Group, applicable as per the specified terms and conditions.
