Bangkok, 5 August 2022 – Prepare to meet the world’s greatest fighters in a mega battle in boxing history! At the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) Thailand 3: MOMENT OF TRUTH BY SINGHA, Buakaw will fight against a strong opponent, Turkish kickboxer Erkan Varol, and 24 other best fighters at the Rajadamnern Stadium on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 6:00 PM. Live broadcast of the event will be available via the BKFC Thailand app, where boxing fans worldwide can watch the matches in real-time, enjoying punch-to-punch, and every movement of these world-renowned fighters. This electrifying event is co-presented by Singha Corporation and Bitkub Capital Group Holdings by Nick Chapman and Wattanai Wattanakul, the two big bosses of BKFC Thailand. BKFC Thailand 3 is expected to gain an overwhelming response from boxing fans around the world, following the great success of the last BKFC THAILAND event held in Pattaya.
Nick Chapman, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of BKFC Thailand, and a former UK1 British Title Cage Rage (UCMMA) World Title Light Heavyweight Champion, said: “This incredible match will become much more exciting and take boxing to the whole new level with the highlighted legendary fight between one of Thailand’s greatest athletes of all time, Buakaw Banchamek, and his fierce opponent, Erkan Varol, a Turkish kickboxer. Besides the main event that everyone has been waiting for, we also have more than 24 fighters who will go toe-to-toe against each other in this BKFC Thailand battle, bringing all the fun, passion, and full excitement to the fans at Rajadamnern Stadium.”
As an athlete and a former MMA champion, Nick shared his comment on the challenge of bare-handed combat: “BKFC exploded so quickly across the world because it’s as real as it gets. And if you get hit with a bad fist, you’ve got a very good chance of going to sleep. It is an arena where even the fiercest fighting athletes in the world are still scared of entering into the BKFC square circle because one punch to the bare face can change things.”
The BKFC Thailand 3 will take place on the ‘Squared Circle’ stage which was specifically designed to enhance fast and exciting matches. Inspired by Broughton’s Law (the Law of Fighting, a method of ending the street brawl in 19th century London), it required fighters to “toe the line” by placing their feet at the center line of the ring which is only 3 feet apart from each other. In this tournament, there are 12 pairs of fighters, consisting of more than 24 boxers. In addition, another highlight besides the main event of “Buakaw Banchamek” and “Erkan Varol” will be two title fights which include the BKFC Thailand featherweight championship battle between Pongpisan “Ton” Chunyong and Surasak Sukkhamcha, and the bantamweight championship fight between Usanakorn Thawilsuhannawang and Chesla Nuval from the Philippines. All fans are encouraged to stay tuned to watch the fierce matches between these mighty fighters of all genders at this year’s BKFC Thailand event, where everyone will definitely experience fun and exciting battles that you would not want to miss!
Vathanai Vathanakul, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of BKFC Thailand, and President of Royal Cliff Hotels Group and Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall, spoke about bringing BKFC to Thailand and Asia, that “Hosting BKFC Thailand event will not only help boost the tourism industry and promote Thailand, it is also an opportunity for athletes in Thailand and neighboring countries to join the competition. This will help create promising opportunities for athletes in the region to develop their skills further in order to compete in world-class events. Moreover, while we bring the BKFC program to the Thai audience, we are planning to combine and showcase other lifestyle aspects, whether it is fashion, arts, culture, and other interesting elements, for the audience to enjoy as well. This will make the show more fun and accessible to a wider audience.”
“In addition to all the fun and excitements from the battle where fighters are required to fight with their bare fists, the rules of the fight are 5 rounds with 2 minutes for each round. They are allowed to request a 30-second break during the fight. Fighters can tape their wrists, thumbs, and palms with gauze up to 2.5 mm thick. They are also only allowed to punch with a tightly clenched fist, and cannot slap or use other weapons such as hands, knees, and elbows, which makes Bare Knuckle fighting a popular futuristic sports trend worldwide. The sport was first started in the United States in 2018 and BKFC Thailand has been the sole official license holder of the competition in Thailand since 2022 with an aim to leverage the sport of street fighting with rules in order to help to lessen social problems. Standing ready to support talented youngsters who lack the opportunity to shine on the fighting path with pride, BKFC Thailand will help train their skills with a team of expert coaches and skilled staff as well as search and groom new and promising fighters to enter the boxing arena. We expect to send highly potential athletes to compete internationally in the future while raising the level of Thailand’s sports industry to be on par with other nations across the globe. We will take care of athletes with fair compensation as it will help create sustainability for the boxing profession and the people in the sport of boxing who are dedicated to supporting the growth of this sport.”
“By organizing the 3rd BKFC Thailand event, we have partners like Singha Corporation and Bitkub Capital Group Hole. Dings Co., Ltd, who see the importance and are ready to support on the mission to leverage the Thai combative sports industry to grow further. We also received great attention from international media such as National Geographic magazine and HBO channel (HBO). This is such a proud moment and a great opportunity for the BKFC Thailand competition that received an overwhelming response. With only three years of operation, we believe that the BKFC tournament, which will take place on Saturday 3 September, will be able to attract a lot of attention from spectators and fans alike. It also helps to attract more tourists to come back and spend more in Thailand. This will contribute to the overall economic stimulus of the country in a concrete way.”
BKFC Thailand recognizes the importance and stands ready to help drive the sport of boxing to grow stably and sustainably. In addition, this arena is open to fighters of all ages according to the policy of BKFC Thailand: Sport have no gender, sport for all! We want real people who have a fighting heart!

Another important partner, Top – Jirayut Supsrisopha Founder and Group CEO of Bitkub Capital Group Holdings Co., Ltd. and most exciting sports at the moment, as it can be considered as both sports and self-defense tactic. I’ve seen it as a new sport for Thai people which still needs continuous support. Bitkub, which is a digital asset platform for Thai people, is committed to raising the potential of Thailand digitally. I see this as an opportunity to help develop and create value for BKFC Thailand’s bare-knuckle fighting martial arts by providing new experiences in cheering and sending strength to fighters through the application of NFT Solution with NFT cards, the cards of fighters call for faith in Thailand’s national sport. It also helps create awareness among Thai people about digital assets and Blockchain technology.”
“By bringing the NFT system to help improve the audience experience of watching the 3rd BKFC Thailand fight, this will enhance their enjoyable moment even more and also create intimacy between fighters and fans. The image of Thai bare-knuckle martial arts will stand out on the world stage. It also helps increase the number of followers because the NFT system can attract audiences around the world to become fans of Thai fighters as well. It comes with features that benefit users directly by allowing them to make transactions in a more secure way. Bitkub is ready to help empower and inspire the new generation as well as help drive the success of Thai athletes for the pride of all Thais.”
The legendary fighter “Buakaw Banchamek” shared that “the BKFC tournament was a different fighting arena that I’ve ever competed in. Because as a Thai boxer, I’m used to using every part of my body as a weapon: fists, feet, knees, elbows. But this is the first time I’ve had to use my fists only to defeat an opponent. Moreover, the BKFC Thailand will take place on the ‘Squared Circle’ stage where you cannot chase your opponent into a corner, you just have to knock them out. Therefore, it is a very challenging stage. But even so, my only goal is to be the champion of this tournament so that my Thai brothers and sisters can feel proud again. And it will also help promote Thai fighting sports to be known on a more global level. Therefore, I would like to encourage all fans to come and watch and cheer for me and other Thai fighters in this mega battle. You can also watch the matches through the BKFC app right from your mobile phone. I promise I will disappoint everyone!”
