Residents make offerings after winning lottery in Ratchaburi

Residents are celebrating substantial lottery wins by making offerings at Phupahung Wongwanaram Monastery in Ratchaburi, bringing chicken eggs, flower garlands, and fireworks to express their gratitude. The temple’s abbot received donations, with some winners attributing their luck to the Naga Loop charm.

At Phupahung Wongwanaram Monastery in Ban Huay Sala, Yang Hak subdistrict, Pak Tho district, Ratchaburi province, people from various regions gathered to make offerings yesterday, October 2. They brought chicken eggs, flower garlands, and fireworks, offering them alongside cash to the Naga Loop charm after experiencing significant lottery wins for three consecutive draws. The lucky winners hit both three-digit and two-digit lottery prizes and returned to the temple to donate according to their faith.

A woman from Phetchaburi province won 120,000 baht after purchasing 60 lottery tickets with the number 59. She brought 900 chicken eggs, 10,000 firecrackers, and some cash to the temple. A woman from Samut Sakhon province, who won several hundred thousand baht in lottery prizes, donated 90,000 baht, placing it on a tray for Phra Ajarn Ek Ariyathammo, the abbot of the monastery.

“I brought this money on behalf of my friend who couldn’t come today. She won the lottery thanks to the Naga Loop charm and wanted to make merit at the monastery.

“Previously, I had the chance to practice meditation here and felt at peace. On holy days, I would follow the abbot up the 215 steps to chant evening prayers, which brought calm to my mind. That’s why I frequently return to practice here.”

In addition to these offerings, a woman danced to fulfil her vow, and many others were hired to dance in beautiful attire, with graceful movements and smiles, showing their faith and belief in the Naga Loop charm. The belief is further solidified by the incense numbers lit at the Naga Loop, which many believe brings luck and fortune.

The abbot of the monastery expressed gratitude for the donations, which are expected to support various religious and community activities. The continuous flow of visitors and their contributions indicate the strong belief in the Naga Loop charm’s power and the monastery’s role in fostering spiritual well-being and community support, reported KhaoSod.
