Police arrested a Thai pervert who grabbed and sniffed a woman’s underwear in front of her in Chon Buri. It was revealed that he was recently arrested for stealing a mobile phone from a Russian woman in early September.

A 25 year old Thai woman filed a complaint against the man, later identified as 21 year old Rung, after she caught him stealing her underwear drying outside her rented room on October 6. After being confronted, the man quickly sniffed the underwear before leaving the stolen item behind.

Bang Lamung Police successfully arrested Rung yesterday, October 9. Rung admitted to his repulsive behaviour, stating that he had stolen underwear once before. He explained that he noticed the woman’s rented room was quiet and decided to commit the indecent act, thinking no one would witness it.

Police officers summoned another victim to the station for questioning and called the latest victim to provide an update on the case yesterday.

Rung pleaded with the two victims to drop the legal charges against him, as he had only recently been arrested for theft. He applied for temporary bail but additional charges would likely result in his bail request being denied.

Following the previous report, Rung stole a mobile phone from the Russian woman on September 2. He claimed he resorted to theft after losing all his money on football betting. He supported his lifelong favourite football team, Manchester United, who unfortunately lost to Liverpool.

The two underwear theft victims agreed to withdraw their complaints against Rung but warned him not to repeat his perverted behaviour.

Police, however, revealed they will charge Rung for causing a nuisance to another person, with a penalty of up to 5,000 baht. It remains unclear whether Rung will be granted temporary release for the theft case.

ORIGINAL STORY: Thai pervert leaves woman shaken after knicker-sniffing antics

A woman is living in fear after a Thai pervert grabbed her underwear hung outside her rented room in Chon Buri and sniffed it right in front of her on Sunday night.

The 25 year old victim filed a complaint with Bang Lamung Police Station yesterday, October 7, and later recounted the shocking experience on Sunday, October 6, to Channel 7. She said she saw the identity of the pervert very clearly and also has CCTV footage of the incident.

The victim explained that she noticed the man, in a green shirt and black shorts, walking back and forth outside her rented room in Soi Naklua 19 in the Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri at night. The man had fair skin and appeared to be between 20 and 30 years old.

According to the victim, the man continued walking before suddenly grabbing the underwear she hung out to dry. He then sniffed it, shocking the woman, who shouted at him, “What are you doing?”

The pervert then threw her underwear away.

“Return it already, beauty.”

The victim said the man then ran from the scene and disappeared into the dark.

The victim stated that she had to live in fear and was worried that the suspect would return to her place. She added that this man was also a threat to others, especially young girls studying at a school near her accommodation. She wanted the police to arrest him as soon as possible.

In a related story that occurred only a week ago, a Thai woman in the eastern province of Rayong is seeking help from the police after she lost all of her underwear to a thief. The victim explained that she washed her clothes at a 24-hour laundry shop and forgot her underwear there.

When the woman returned to the shop to retrieve her clothes, everything had disappeared. She requested to check the CCTV footage and found a man in a pink shirt stealing them. Fortunately, the police managed to arrest the thief and confiscated all of the stolen underwear.
