Upon arrival, villagers were gathered around the water jar where the deceased, identified as 57 year old Prasit, was found. Rescue personnel retrieved the body from the jar and examined it, finding no signs of foul play. The discovery was deeply distressing for Prasit’s family, especially his son, 38 year old Chanarong, who had been frantically searching for his missing father.

Chanarong recounted his harrowing experience, explaining that his father, a former deputy chairman of the Hin Dat Subdistrict Municipality Council, had vanished from their home early in the morning.

“I was not at home when it happened. My mother told me that my father had been missing since morning. We called out for him, but there was no response.”

Upon returning home, Chanarong began searching for his father and noticed his shoes placed beside the large water jar behind their house. Peering into the jar, he was horrified to find his father’s lifeless body floating inside.

“I was shocked and heartbroken. I immediately informed neighbours and called the police and rescue team for help.”

The family is preparing for the cremation ceremony, scheduled to take place on August 19 at Wat Hin Dat crematorium in the Hin Dat subdistrict, reported KhaoSod.
