A female security guard in Chon Buri province issued a warning after a drunk man, claiming to work at the Bang Lamung Municipality Office, attempted to sexually assault her.

The security guard told Amarin TV that the attempted assault on Sunday, August 25, had instilled fear in her and the residents of the community where she worked. She and the locals wanted the suspect to face justice, especially if he was indeed employed at the Bang Lamung Municipality Office, as he had claimed.

The guard explained that she was on duty at the village entrance when the suspect arrived with another man on a motorcycle. She quickly realised that the two drunk men were not residents of the village.

They entered the village briefly and then exited. Before leaving, the suspect, a man in a red shirt, stopped at the security booth and shouted at her.

The suspect then asked her to come closer but she refused.

The guard said the man asked for her contact details.

“Darling, give me your LINE account.”

She did not respond and stepped back into the booth. He boasted that he was a government official working for the municipality office but she did not care about his occupation.

The man then got off his motorcycle and approached her. He tried to hug her, prompting her to flee the booth to seek help. The other man who was with the suspect eventually took him away from the scene.

The security guard brought CCTV footage of the incident to the municipality office to file a complaint but the officials there denied that the man worked for the office.

The guard did not reveal whether she took any legal action against the man.

In a separate but related incident, an apartment security guard in the Isaan province of Surin was arrested for the attempted rape of a 19 year old woman. The guard entered the victim’s room with a spare key and attempted to sexually assault her. Fortunately, an apartment manager living next door came to her aid.
