Debt collector’s haunting discovery: Bank employee stumbles upon dead body in Chon Buri
A Thai bank employee stumbled upon the dead body of a Thai woman when he visited her home to collect a debt in Chon Buri province. It is predicted that the woman took her own life at least three months before she was found.
Narrating his shocking experience to Channel 7, the bank employee said his manager had ordered him to visit the client’s residence due to her failure to keep up her house instalment payments.
The employee explained that he arrived at the house yesterday afternoon, October 24, and was met with an unsettling sight. The property’s front gate was left open, and the house was also very quiet and messy. He decided to check the front door and saw a dead body through the window. He was shocked and reported the matter at Nong Prue Police Station.
Upon receiving the report, police officers, and a rescue team, investigated the house. They broke the front door to gain access and found the remains of the woman, identified as 59 year old Nonglak, near the front door.
Based on the condition of the body, officers assumed that Nonglak had been dead at least three months before her discovery. Officers found a charcoal stove and leaking gas cylinder within the residence, leading them to conclude that Nonglak’s demise had been a result of suicide.
A neighbour told police that Nonglak’s daughter used to visit her mother but she had not seen either Nonglak or her daughter since July. She did not notice any odours or suspicious noises before the body was discovered.
Police said they had initially concluded that the death was a suicide. However, Nonglak’s body would be taken to the Police General Hospital for an autopsy. They would also contact Nonglak’s daughter and other relatives for further questioning.
