University ranked No.1 in Thailand for 17 years

Chulalongkorn University has solidified its position as one of Southeast Asia’s premier institutions, securing a spot in the top 10 universities in ASEAN according to the QS World University Rankings (WUR) 2026.

Announced on June 19, this prestigious recognition highlights the university’s continued excellence in education, academic reputation, and employability outcomes.

Not only does Chulalongkorn remain at the forefront of Thai higher education, but it has also ranked No.1 in Thailand for an impressive 17 consecutive years. Its global standing is equally noteworthy, ranking 221st in the world and securing places in the top 100 for two key areas: academic reputation, where it placed 89th globally, and employment outcomes, where it ranked 64th.

The QS WUR 2026 evaluated 1,501 universities worldwide, assessing them across a variety of criteria. Chulalongkorn scored highly in all areas, underlining its commitment to academic excellence and its international reputation.

The QS rankings take into account indicators such as academic reputation (30%), citations per faculty (20%), employer reputation (15%), employment outcomes (5%), faculty student ratio (10%), international faculty ratio (5%), international research network (5%), international student ratio (5%), and Sustainability (5%).
