Beauty salon owner devastated after niece steals 72,000 baht
A beauty salon owner has been left devastated after her niece stole nearly 100,000 baht and disappeared. Anyone with information that leads to the niece’s whereabouts will receive a 10,000 baht reward.
At 7.16pm yesterday, a beauty shop owner, 30 year old Ann shared her story with the media to serve as both a warning and a plea for help. Her niece made off with 72,000 baht in cash. The incident took place at her beauty salon located within a condominium on Thepprasit Road, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chon Buri.
Ann and her boyfriend have since filed a report with the Pattaya City Police Station.
Ann revealed that her niece, 23 year old Ying, was trusted and treated like family. Ann had brought Ying into the salon to help out, never expecting her to commit such an act.
On the day of the theft, Ann was present in the shop but had no suspicion. It wasn’t until the afternoon when Ying disappeared and could no longer be contacted that Ann realised the money was missing.
Ann revealed that despite the theft, she is willing to forgive her niece if she returns with the money and explains her motives behind the crime. She pleaded for her niece to return the money if she still had any left, and in return, Ann wouldn’t press charges against her.
In addition, Ann is also offering a 10,000 baht reward for any information that leads to Ying’s location. She cautioned other business owners to be vigilant and not to trust anyone blindly, even family in this case, reported KhaoSod.
In other news, a dramatic police chase on foot culminated in the arrest of a suspect who had been on a spree of fuel thefts across three provinces, filling up massive containers with fuel before making a quick getaway in his modified pickup truck.
